Tip # 1 – They know your credentials.
Remember, you got the interview. So this means that you meet the requirements about position. Relax. Now you need to focus on the following tips and advice. Try to focus on the job, go over your CV and keep it close, and you made it this far, so relax. Now they want to find out about you.
Tip # 2 – Research the firm and its lawyers.
Take the time to get ready. Nowadays it is easier than ever to find out information about the firm, its practice areas, and most importantly its lawyers. Once the interview is scheduled, try and figure out all the possible people who could be in the interview with you. Make sure you know who you are applying to. For sure this is the most important way to kick off the process correctly. Google the company, check the employee registry for any common contacts, check where they have offices and finally, check the other open job positions.
Tip # 3 – Know the business side.
This is obvious, but it doesn’t matter if it is a commercial law firm or a non-profit, every firm wants more clients. Knowing how to come up with leads, drive business and make deals can make the difference in getting the job or not.

Everyone who interviews is smart. They are all qualified. They work hard. So, what makes the difference. After starting the interview, the first objective is to make a quick connection with your interviewer. Figure this out fast.
